| Completely new for fall 2010, this one-hour presentation introduces you to the latest Google tools and tricks that will make both you and your students more productive, taller, and better looking. Or not. Seriously, though, in this one-hour presentation we’ll attempt the impossible: We’re going to try to catch up with all of—-or at least most of—-Google’s latest inventions. |

Estimate that it saves 2.5 seconds per search More Search tools listed on the left side of the page Some of the choices are - Wonder Wheel Timeline Sites with Images Google Image Swirl - Google Preferences - in this section you can enable Safe Search. This requires a user name and password. This will turn on Strict Filtering, disallowing access to inappropriate sites. Google Fast Flip Google Chrome - web browser, great security and great speed. Alot of people are now using this for their primary web browser. YouTube HTML5 - solves the Flash problem in Safari and Chrome YouTube Leanback - YouTube for HD/widescreen Google Goggles - works with your cell phones camera. Google Goggles on the android phone, Google Mobile app on the iPhone. It is a visual search option, you just take a photo and it finds/searches information about that object! CRAZY and CREEPY all at the same time :-) Google URL Shortener - goo.gl Google Images carries the Life Magazine library of photos Google Dictionary Google Translate |
I want to share everything I am learning at the GaETC conference this year. The Georgia Technology Conference is a great place for teachers to learn from each other, as well as from "the pros". The posts below will walk you through the sessions I will be attending. Be sure to send me comments if you have any questions or ideas about how to use the technology in your classroom! I hope you find something you can use :-)
